The child begins to learn suggestibility from the fetal stage till the age of 9 years. Anything learned and captured in this period becomes the child suggestibility for the rest of the life. As a matter of fact, we cannot change the suggestibility, but only the "Behaviour".
This is also a period when maximum development of the child’s brain occurs. Hence, it becomes crucial for us as parents to give proper guidance to our children at this stage of their life. If we fail to take care properly, then various mental problems may surface at a later stage.
Our Hindu Purana has very beautiful and logical reference to the same.Think about the childhood of Dhruva. He was very keen to sit in the lap of his father. However, his father always refused. Anticipating that Dhruva was getting deprived of his father’s love and affection, his mother advised him to sit in the lap of GOD. He followed his mother’s advice and became one of the most successful person of his time.
Similarly, we can learn from the life of Duryodhana. From his childhood, Duryodhana learned jealousy, bad manners and inculcated a quarrelsome attitude. And the result is known to everyone. He was the cause of the death of so many people in Kurukshetra.
We have learned in many practical lessons that at times negative pressure works and builds the character of human being. For say, we always put pressure on our children to study hard to secure more marks. Without good marks and better grades, he/she would not get a good job and spoil the rest of his/her life. However, we hardly realise that our pressuring the child already starts spoiling his/her present – So how can the child’s future be bright?
The truth is that we do not know how the subconscious mind of human beings, especially a child’s mind takes such discouragements. Our mind is never encouraged by negative comments. At times, it becomes so hurt by these negative comments that depression starts to develop in the child. The intensity becomes so derogatory that the child goes up to commit suicidal attempts.
However, this never says that parents should not give suggestions to their children.
They must constantly guide and advise their children, but in a proper manner and patient manner. In a manner that the child realises where the loopholes are and becomes encouraged to follow their teachings.
As parents, you must need to learn the correct way to do so – A systematic psychological method is what is required.
Child counselling starts from fetal stage to childhood.
From fetal stage to toddler, a child thinks and behaves as if he/she still is part of the mother’s body. This is a time, child behaviour develops. Hence, this is the best time child counselling should be done at a very high level.
We can inculcate good habits at a very childhood stage, which grows as the behaviour of the child later.
True fact is that we cannot change the suggestibility of the child at a later stage.
We can only change the behaviour.
So, we must act on to develop the child psychology through proper and methodical counselling as soon as possible to present a better future to our children.

Problems in marriage are increasing, leading to rise in divorce rates in our society. This issue is severely disturbing our social balance and the whole concept of the “Orbit of Life”.
The orbit of life is your sphere of influence. Before marriage, we are under self-orbit and enjoy doing things our way. But, post-marriage, we share our orbit with someone else.
Marriage is like a fascinating flight journey, we enjoy flying but we are afraid of the turbulence. We fear because we are unable to handle the turbulence. However, not everybody is afraid of the same intensity. Do you wonder why?
Research on human psychology and behaviour says that the scale is different for different people. Some people can easily control the fear and move one in their lives, while some others just creep around the issue and make their lives more miserable. Marriage and marital conflicts are no different.
Before we learn to find out more, let us understand the various types of marriage. Broadly, marriages are of two types:
Arrange Marriage
Arrange marriage is the most common type. Here, we hardly get sufficient time to know or understand a person and judge only based on his or her talking, dressing sense and way of dealing things. And, with that little knowledge, we get into a long-term relationship, which can turn out to be good or worse.
Love Marriage
In love marriage, we spend a long time to know and understand the person. But again, only to an extent. The main hindrances here are:
People show artificial faces to each other.
Situation and conditions during a love relationship can change after marriage.
The issue of sharing orbit of life is still there.
So, be it an arrange or love, most of the marriages fail because we start focusing on the mistakes of each other. Doing so we create so much misunderstanding that we fail to find our inner beauty.
The main reasons that create differences are:
Lack of Transparency
We give the least importance to transparency and hide things from each other that impacts our relationship badly.
Lack of Faith
Losing faith in our partner leads to other issues like a misunderstanding on our sex relation, past and current life.
Mistake
If we understand that being human we make mistakes. But instead of understanding each other’s fault and improving the situation, we go deeper blaming each other. Fact is this “We are humans, so we make mistakes. We make mistake, so are we humans”

Against the popular belief, Relationships are not the end point of a journey. It is a new journey in itself and like any other journey that anyone has ever taken, it has its own ups and downs.
It mostly our perception, acceptance and patience that defines how the journey's ups and downs are going to affect us.
We've all been there. While in any relationship, at times we've happiness and enjoyment while during other times burdened and tried. A simple advice has always been to focus on the happiness and enjoyment while try to work outwards positively from within the burdens.
But it's easier said than done, right? We know that these burdens tend to bring out the worst in us maybe even becoming a cause of conflicts in the relationship.
From a psychological point of view, we will try to discuss the main reasons for said conflicts. In order for a healthy relationship to continue being healthy, we generally follow the two-step theory.
The first step -
A conflict in a relationship starts almost always when we try to hold the smaller things in life inside us. Absorbing and not expressing or trying to "let go" by taking a positive and corrective action.
At some point or the other, we reach our limits of holding back and absorbing everything. That limit when crossed, is when we explode (and internally shatter).
This outburst or explosion confuses our partner and, in that confusion, they tend to focus on the outburst or explosion and neglect everything that led us to that point. This is the precise point where the conflicts start.
The thing is, we need to understand that holding back in a relationship while waiting for the right time to express yourself is the wrong way to go about it. Between our partner and us every moment of conversation is the right time to bring things up and to let things out.
This isn't just for personal relationships. This is a part of every relationship that one develops throughout their lives be it, friends, office colleagues, spouse etc.
The second step -
A little more relatable but equally important is that we need to be able to avoid Ego related issues. Ego has been known in relationships to make people stubborn, unresponsive, drawn-back and even downright aggressive.
We are generally smart enough to figure how and when to void Ego but there always parts of a relationship when we slip, causing us to not be able to considerate enough.
Please do understand, when are being considerate we are not losing ourselves to the needs of our partners we are just trying to be there for them.
Using the above theory and the steps defined therein, we know we can have a much healthier and a wholesome relationship.
One known example from our Indian heritage is of Guru Dronacharya. One day he decided to bring a cow for his children. He promised his wife that he would bring back the cow with him and left for towards friend Drupada.
Drupada, unfortunately, refused to give him the cow and Guru Dronacharya, in his Ego decided to stay and win over his friend Drupada to finally bring home the cow.
In his Ego, he lost the time he could have spent with his family. He lost the time when his children grew up and he lost the beautiful moments of his relationship with his wife.
Why did this happen? Because he didn't follow the two-step theory and the steps defined therein.
The cost of suffering is always higher than the cost of not letting the Ego get in the way and the cost of holding back until the point of outburst combined.
Follow the theory with the two defined steps and try to make your relationship hearty and reliable.

When a Child enters the teenage phase, the parents become extra-cautious. This is the age where children try to discover themselves. Teenage has always been considered a sensitive phase in our orbit of life.
They consider themselves above all bonding and family restrictions. Today’s situation makes us recall the famous phrase – “Speed thrills but Kills.”
But, what are the reasons of this behavioural shift?
Teenagers now-a-days undergo several changes; some of them come with age and a few others come as the curse of the society.
The key factors that primarily affect teenagers are:
1. Bullying and Peer Pressure
Bullying and peer pressure seems to be very simple word, but they hit very deeply. Both start from any small input, which later go up to very high risk; just like an atomic reaction. If we wish to categorise, these can be divided into the following three categories.
a) Emotional
b) Verbal
c) Physical
So, is it something that has started now? No, it has started from the times of Mahabharata. We remember how Ashwatthama’s mother put rice water on his mouth, so that he can show his friends that he also drank milk. All these she did was just to safeguard from bullying and peer pressure.
According to available data, the occurrence of bullying and peer pressure among teenagers is very high but hidden. The consequences can go up to porn or child abuse also.
This becomes a chance for the opportunists to take advantage of the situation. Many teenagers fail to cope with the depression, trauma or phobia and even commit suicide. However, proper counselling and therapy can do a miracle.
2. Biological Changes
Teenage brings several changes in mind, body, emotion as well as thought process. They hardly discuss their point of view with their parents and family members.
They generally try to resolve their problems among their peer group. They may also use the Internet and gather incomplete facts. Out of curiosity, they start exploring the changes of their own, which can cost a lot in so many ways.
3. Change of Life Orbit
Teenage is a major turning point in the life of an individual. They develop new orbits of life, where they allow new friends, both boys and girls, to enter a relationship.
They easily get influenced by their friends and follow them more than they follow their parents. Their energy creates arrogance. Similarly, adolescence is also the most crucial time of life.
It requires proper guidance and understanding for our teenagers to come out as winner in life.

We all know a famous character of Mahabharat – Lord Parashurama, killed all Kshatriyas, whoever appeared in front of him because his father was killed by one of them.
Just because of one Kshatriya, he went on a killing spree. He was carried away by his own destructive decision, until he was given proper counselling.
Most of the youth, take such energy-centric decisions, without considering the consequences.
But question is – What, where, when and why things went wrong.
Whenever the ability of the youth is tested through destructive means, the youth get frustrated. They try to find the correct answer and finding none, they start blaming the society and the system. At a time when it is most required, no one is there to counsel them in the right direction.
One more similar example, we can find in the Ramayana. Lord Rama went on Vanavas (Exile) for 14 long years. So, who was really responsible for such a devastating turnaround?
A few names that come:
1. Rani Kaikeyi
2. Manthara
3. Two Promises of the King
We can add more names. And then, one name that comes to the mind is Manthara. Right? But, is this correct cause?
NO, Surprisingly!
The only culprit was King Dasaratha himself. He could have called for an immediate meeting with four prince to find out a better solution. Even Prince Bharata would have no objection.
This is the state of the youth in our society. They are very much misled and misguided and way away from finding proper counselling. The youth has a lot of potential, but a lot of pressure also.
When the pressure does not find a way to be released, it converts into anger and later into depression.
The youth can search for the root cause, but sometimes cannot find it themselves. Instead, they follow assumptions, perceptions or suggestions. Hence, right suggestions should be available.

Such problems are derogatory as we are not aware of their exact nature and intensity. When the symptoms are revealed, it’s already late. Psychotherapy can help ease the situation.
Again, the main question here is how the problem starts.
Initially, thoughts begin in our logical mind, which convert into emotions. If any negative emotion is not addressed properly, symptoms of mental illness appear.

Most of us consider parenting to be a gift by nature itself. Just about every one of us wants to be able to enjoy it. We see a baby and smile, we hear them laugh and it melts our hearts. It is beautiful.
For new parent though, at times we feel like that things aren't going our way with the child. We may believe that the child is being very aggressive or the child is being difficult.
But it is extremely rare that it is the child's fault. Most of the time, it is the parent's inexperience and their inability to be ready for such a beautiful but a sudden change in life; the child's presence.
Due to the fact that parents aren't generally ready for the responsibilities or the pressure and the stress it always ends up disturbing them internally.
According to Chanyaka, childhood can be divided and expressed in three phases of years.
For the first four years - The child belongs to the Mother,
For the next four years - The child belongs to the Father,
Finally, for the next four years - The child belongs to himself/herself.
a. First Four Years
In the first four years, even the psychologists suggest, that this is the stage where the child learns everything from the Mother. This learning is what the child will then carry forward for years to come.
In some cases, even throughout the adult life. In these years, if the mother acts aggressively or is short-tempered then there is a strong possibility that the child will pick this up and act the same for a large part of his/her life.
During these years the entire family should work together to make sure that the mother is not stressed or tensed. The family should actively try to maintain the peace and the stability required for the child.
b. Next Four Years
During these four years, the child follows and learns from the father and the other adults within the family. Here everything the father is in front of the child is what the child absorbs.
So, in case the father is aggressive, stressed or has a type of addiction, the child will learn it and take it forward with his/her years to come.
There are several documented cases where the father used to have drinking problem, even after the father was able to gain control over the addiction and stop drinking, the child picked up the drinking habit.
The father, in this case, is the creator of this habit and should be the one to help the child as well. Parents should, in general, avoid any negative addictions, aggression, or similarly negative behavioural issues around the child. This helps the child to grow up as a better, kinder and an involved person.
c. Between eight to the twelfth year
During this phase, the child tends to learn from the peers around him and the friends he/she has made. This is a stage where the child will use all the learning he has had from the Father and the Mother and mix it with everything he/she learns from the group of friends and even the school they may be attending.
The phase is especially crucial for the child because the child will be experimenting with a lot of different social and personal aspects of his/her life. In a way, they are now developing their roots.
This stage is well managed by the parents with the help of positive reinforcement and suggestions that are actually specific to the child. They need a friend more than a parent during this phase.
Parents, if are careful and disciplined can help a lot in the development of the child's future.
We can use an example here of Rawana. Rawana was very intelligent and qualified yet we call him a Rakshasa. So why did he behave like a Rakshasa given how capable he was?
We know from history that His Mother was Rakshasa while his father was a saint. He learned his Rakshasa ways from his mother while his father gave him the education. Mixing the two and his own experience, he became an intelligent person who acted like a Rakshasa (read cruel).
In the end, we need to give the child the right path for his/her future and that is a pro-active responsibility of the entire family together.

Stress is a very small, yet powerful word.
Everyone today is under stress. Even a small child gets under stress just for the simple reason that the mother asked her/him to take milk!
Coming to the point; stress in our life is increasing day-by-day. So, what is Stress? This is not something that we desire for or need like we do for food, water, air etc. But we easily come under its influence.
The only reason is we allow it to happen. We give it a permanent shelter in our life. We allow our mind to take negative words from the people, thinking and rethinking about them and then we get stressed.
If our mind refuses to accept them, there would be no stress. Our fear of stress has become so intense that it becomes an opportunity for others to use our situations to their advantage.
So, we need to understand first that the cause of our stress is our way of dealing with negativity, criticism and fear of unknown. If we accept them, we lose focus, increase frustration, become short-tempered and depressed.
Out of the many reasons, a few prominent ones are – work pressure, high growth and family status. We care a lot of the by-products only, without realising our main focus.

We have great narration in Mahabharata.
Arjun took an oath that he would kill Jayadratha until sunset the other day. Next day, when he started to fight, he came under stress every time he was looking at the sun.
Doing so, he was getting diverted from his main aim frequently. Lord Krishna’s counselled Arjuna saying that he must not focus on the sun as it would take its actual time path, rather his focus should be on his target.
If Lord Krishna would not have given him right counselling in right time, then Arjuna would not have succeeded.

As we all know, children are very perceptive. This perceptiveness in them tends to help them understand and even pick up on the stressfulness of the parent. This stress that the parent innocently passed on the child, sticks with the child. Sometimes, throughout the child's life.
We know that the majority of the children would do right by their parents, and this could mean that they will follow the goals or achievements (even career paths) that were originally set by the Parents.
This career path may lead them to find a place where they have found a simple or a content life but most of the time children will find out that have their own personalities and skills associated with those personalities.
A career they did not choose while suppressing their own nature can very well lead to dissatisfaction or in some cases depression.
Why do we want our children to suffer? Why do we not foresee the struggle?
Well, to be honest, we would but we need to have an open mind about things. Children are amazing.
They are individuals that have a lot to offer to our world. These children, if not suppressed always have immense potential in their own special and unique ways. As parents, we need to focus that uniqueness about them because that uniqueness is what holds their real and most explosive skills.
Maybe most of the parents have already figured all of this out, right? Parents always know their child the best but do all parents teach their child that it is the journey that's more important than the destination?
By that, we mean that the achievements and the goals are good but that shouldn't be the focus for a child. A child with strong and positive emotions towards the path that leads to the goals will definitely reach the goal but also enjoy the journey.
What do we think, can we prepare ourselves for the desired careers?
The short answer is - Yes. Every one of us can prepare ourselves... The question is "How?"

Why are we afraid of something? What is phobia?
It is a mental state of uncontrolled awareness. Fear is known and phobia is unknown.
Known fear can be controlled easily. For instance, we are afraid of wild animals like the lion, so we avoid going in front of it. However, there are certain unknown fears like the lift fear, plane fear, fear of height, water, fire, etc. Some of us have public fear, stage fear, study fear etc.
Let us take the example of lift.
We know very well that a lift is safe. We have witnessed that there will not be any problem inside a lift. We have seen people entering into and coming out of the lift safely. Still, due to an unknown fear, we just fear to enter into the lift.
Why is so? We know that every one of us has some or the other kind of fear in our life. Only the Woods people are known to be fearless. They would face any animal known or unknown bravely.
Fear keeps us warned and alarmed. It corrects your risk-taking capacity. If there is no fear, one can go off the track easily. To some extent, fear is good, but it should not be so uncontrolled that you forget to live.
What is Phobia?
When the duration of one’s fear lingers, it builds a permanent shelter in our mind – from Conscious to Subconscious.
It slowly converts into a phobia, making our life painful and traumatic. We should act on fear immediately. In extreme cases, phobia creates depression or other severe mental illness.
To understand it let us take the same example of lift.
The fear of entering into lift becomes so powerful that we start fearing about it while thinking – it is phobia. We start creating hypotheses around it and start to believe strongly what we think. Our subconscious mind records it deeply and affects our logical mind, forcing us to behave as a psychiatric patient.
Happy and joyful life is your right not the mercy of mind. You should control your mind rather than your mind controls you.

The age between 40 and 55, known as the middle age, leaves us at a very crucial juncture of life. We are already settled in career and life – life seems to be contended and we are focused on securing our third generation. It is such a threshold of life where we are rapidly losing our youth and becoming more and more responsible.
Like, a beautiful rose also has thrones, mid-age has its own set of challenges. Responsibility towards the family and that of both the previous and future generations make us worrisome. The situation is just like an experienced batsman. Even a set batsman has to take proper guard, apply his skills and focus on individual ball equally. If he loses focus, he loses his wicket and eventually, the match.
Similarly, we should be focused on the new inning of life. We need to understand our young generation and adopt new things. Usually, there occur two types of situations.
1. Both partners are working in Office
Here, both are busy with their respective works. They are high in ambition and want to settle their second generation. Money is not an issue, but time is. They cannot find time to comfort each other and for the family. When anything wrong happens to their second generation, they play the blame game. Dissatisfaction in a relationship leads to extramarital affairs, at times.
The irony is that the counterpart can understand the situation, but cannot take any fruitful step as she/he already has so much of responsibility. And the result is – Depression, Blood Pressure, Hypertension, Diabetes, Fear, Phobia etc.
2. One partner is working in Office and other in Home
The partner working in an office is surrounded by so many responsibilities that there is hardly any time spent at home. The homemaker, has now some time to spare, as children are grown up and no much work is there at home. However, as the spouse is too busy, she/he starts thinking negatively and vague things. Hence, the homemaker comes under fear, disagreements, fights, depression and an extramarital affair.
In both the cases, the future of children is at stake due to low family attachment. They need someone to explain their point of view to each other and try to bridge the gaps. The help of counsellor or therapist becomes very much required to smoothen their new innings.
