Exam -Tips for Parents

February is here so the exams …This is a the time of year when both students & parents feel the heat of exams-Exams time is most stressful time for the students . In fact for parents also exam of the child is a taxing time. With change in pattern of question , syllabus & difficulty level can made the student despair at times . However, handling the situation calmly will help to ease the stress levels of your child as well as your home.

Read on to understand how parents can ease the child   to deal with exam s pressure:

  1. Keep them positive: Child become negative in the days preceding the exams. It parents responsibility to boost the morale of your child & keep the atmosphere positive as much as possible. No Negative statements –“remember your previous grades”, ”you will fail if not work hard”, ”You have to score — % of marks . However, do not make the child overconfident.
  2. Ba a support: Whenever your child face any difficulty in learning any concept help them to understand that concept .if you are not owing due to difficulty level then please guide them about how they can solve the doubts. Talk to teacher, search on internet etc.
  3. Check the diet: Some children lose their appetite during exams. Parents needs to ensure that their wards are eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables also drinking plenty of water keep them well hydrated.
  4. Stress management: Soft music & light exercise help to manage the stress. You can encourage your child to go out in the open for a stroll.
  5. Keep Personal & family problems at bay: Do not discuss family problems in your child’s hearing now and if possible, never. Unknowingly you may be adding to his or her stress levels. In fact agree not to disagree with your spouse or other family members during this time as even a normal argument can be distracting.
